Hot Fudge Sauce
Hot fudge sauce is Ice Cream Season’s quintessential topping. This homemade chocolate sauce is sticky and sweet, and comes together so quickly and effortlessly. This recipe makes 2 cups of sauce, and keeps well in the fridge for up to 1 month.

Ingredients
- 2 tbsp unsalted butter
 - 2/3 cup heavy whipping cream, 35%
 - 1/2 cup honey
 - 1/4 cup (50g) packed dark brown sugar
 - 1/4 cup (20g) cocoa powder
 - 1/4 tsp salt
 - 6 oz (170g) semi-sweet chocolate, chopped
 - 1/2 tsp pure vanilla extract
 
Instructions
- Put the butter, cream, honey, sugar, cocoa powder and salt in the small saucepan.
 - Bring the ingredients to a simmer over medium heat.  Stir the ingredients with a spatula until incorporated.
 - Turn the heat down to low and let simmer for 5 minutes.
 - Remove the saucepan from the heat and stir in the chopped chocolate until it is melted and incorporated.
 - Stir in the vanilla.
 - Let the hot fudge sauce cool for 15 to 20 minutes.  It will thicken.
 - Pour the hot fudge sauce over a scoop of ice cream and enjoy!
 - Transfer the sauce to an airtight container and refrigerate for up to 1 month.
